Halley Comet Cosmic Dust
Comet Halley was last seen passing near the earth 24 years ago. The Comet passes through our inner solar system every 76 years. Comet Halley is called a comet because it’s made of dust and water ice, and when it passes close to the Sun it produces a brilliant tail of dust and ions. Orbital speed depends on how far an object is from the Sun; the closer it is, the faster it moves.
