A South Korean rocket carrying a climate observation satellite apparently exploded 137 seconds into its flight early yesterday, the country’s second major space setback in less than a year.

Space Junk Almost Caused Collision
The quantitiy of debris in space has been causing concern to agencies involved with exploring space and companies depending on satellites installed there. But now space agencies have demonstrated the capability of a new system which tracks debris and is intended to prevent collisions. The system detected a near-collision situation in which 3.8 tons of rocket booster waste left over from a Chinese launch threatened the 8 ton European Space Agency (ESA) Envisat Earth remote-sensing spacecraft.
Japan Will Launch Solar-Powered Space Ship
Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) plans to launch the first space shuttle in the world to use solar-powered display to show off a new generation of renewable energy technologies.
According to agency reports, spaceship that will be wrapped in a screen size of 20 meters and will be developed when the plane leaves the earth’s atmosphere.
